Louise Dancet graduated from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels Free University) and started working as an attorney-at-law at the Brussels legal bar. She worked in the international advisory and proces practice using Dutch, French and English as working language. After relocating to Amsterdam she commited herself to conflict solving and more in particular mediation.
For ICTRecht B.V. (an ICT Law Firm) Louise developed the Mediation Service as an alternative means of unfolding conflicts. This has helped companies from the ICT sector to resolve conflicts with their conflicting party (client, supplier, co-owner etc.) via mediation, mainly in the field of intellectual property, liability or commercial disagreements.
Louise is a MfN registered mediator and her practice focuses on labour law and collaboration conflicts in the broad sense (business disputes between companies or within a particular company). Apart from that she is also sought after as a mediator when conflicts are set in the context of copyright disputes, ICT or when they have an outspoken international character.
Louise trains junior mediators at the professional training of ICM Opleidingen & Trainingen (ICM Education & Training) and for the Amsterdam branch of The School of Life she has developed the classes “Beter Leren Ruzie Maken” (How to disagree more constructively), “Confronteren” (How to Confront effectively) and “Onderhandelen” (Negotiation techniques).
Once a year she also offers interpreneurs within her network a hands on workshop on conflict management.
Louise is a member of the Vereniging Zakelijke Mediation (ZAM) (Association for Business Mediation and she has several publications to her name.
